lyrics

Asher Weiss “Something to Believe In” © 2008

This time she thought
Things can't be broken
Someone whose love
Is unconditional

But she's a delicate glass
That fell from the shelf
And shattered his love for her
Who could not love herself

"Is there something to believe in?"
She asked through tears
Blurring what she could see.

"It's not an if," she said
"It's a question of when
I am forsaken
God will take me in."

He who had left her
Could not dispute this claim
And though he was sorry
He would not accept the blame.

"I've got something to believe in!"
She wanted him to know.

The split seemed so right
When it occurred
But now he could not sleep
His thoughts consumed by her

"Memory's short
And we will never be
I must forget him and
Live my life" thought she

“I've got something to believe in!”
She wanted him to know.
